K Dial – Prototype, 176.001

General Description:

The K dial was featured on a 176.001 in the earliest cal. 1040 technical guide and featured a dial and handset that were never seen on any other watch. The dial isn’t labelled Seamaster or Speedmaster, has no box around the date window, and the 24-hour recorder has a left/right color scheme as opposed to top/bottom. This dial was never released in production, and it is unknown if Omega’s museum even has an example.
